i had two large regular CFL bulbs with edison bases, like 150W equivalent. They lasted 12 years. the SOCKETS they were in, OUTSIDE, broke from sun bleaching before the bulbs burned out.

I have to replace LED bulbs INDOORS like once a year, minimum. it SUCKS.

LED power supplies need heat sinking, and most bulbs are installed base up or base sideways, both of which concentrate heat in the power supply.
