Correct. It’s not as simple as just adding a BIP39 passphrase to a single-sig.

In BIP39, technically speaking, every seed has a passphrase, it’s just that usually the passphrase is the default value, the empty string “”.

So, for each of your signers in your multisig, they’re already using a passphrase, and could be configured to use a different one.
