Can someone explain in terms the average person can understand, how Bitcoin transactions would continue to function during a power outage? I'd like to be able to defend this concept...
Bitcoin doesn't require everyone to stay online. A signed transaction can wait in your wallet until power returns, then broadcast through any still-connected node on the global network.
