A serious question. If Islam is proclaiming it is a good religion, why are so many countries that embrace it are so backwards? Is it the media that spreads false info to the rest of us, or is it a reality and I am missing something? I am very curious.
(I am not religious, but I am not against it if people need/want it)

I tend to view this topic through the lense that irrational dogma can't be the basis of good. Any good that comes from it is random and will usually be overshadowed by the bad. I haven't found a religion that isn't shit.
