This is what I don't get about all the people confidently asserting this summer is within the normal range of variation and we're all just snowflakes for making a fuss about it. Even if they can't look out of the window and see the brown grass surely they have friends or family it's affecting? I don't know, maybe I'm primed to pay attention to these things when they come up in every day conversation but in addition to the above person who got heatstroke at work I have a friend who works on a neurology ward where staff are fainting and a tray of plastic syringes melted in the heat, and a farmer friend who's planning to drastically reduce the size of her flock of sheep next year because there isn't enough grazing to sustain them.
