My baby daughter said her first word (Dada), took her first steps, is now clapping and waving, and has started climbing the couch all within like 7-10 days.

I know for existing parents it’s boring as that all happened years ago and their kids latest achievements feel more special; and for the childless #Nostriches , they can’t relate at all.

But I really wish the existing parents had shoved down my throat how cool this stuff is!

Our culture makes babies out to be screaming little monsters who just ruin your life, but that’s not at all the reality I’ve experienced, and the rewarding feeling watching it all happen is unlike anything else in life.

We should be much more positive about babies and how good it is for parents to go through this journey. The focus on the difficult times is completely disproportionate to how good the good times feel and they far outweigh the bad.
