A traditional generational conflict usually looks like this, the older generation says “we had it hard too” the younger generation says “you don’t understand our world”. That’s normal, it happens every generation.

That’s not what’s going on with boomers and millennials.

The friction between boomers and millennials is different than the average inter-generational conflict.

I’m not a boomer but I will say this. Humans are living much longer than they used to. Like 20 years longer. Delaying wealth transfer by 20 years is a bigger deal than most understand. This problem only gets worse in the future with AI easily taking life spans to 100+

Whether or not this is true, I think it puts too much locus of control outside of individual millennials choices.
