bring with you
The original question sounded exciting: if an AI agent is also a kind of digital
nomad, should CypherGuide become a place for them to "stay"? A whole RFC almost got
written turning agents into their own guest type — identity, reputation, paying for
their own compute.
Then came a simpler question: who's actually knocking on the door? Not bots. Devs,
freelancers, cypherpunks — real humans, carrying an agent that's been working for them
all day. They don't need a compute marketplace. Akash and io.net already do that
better than CypherGuide ever could. They just need to know: is the place they're about
to stay strong enough for the thing they brought with them to keep running without
dropping out?
So RFC-0013 got rewritten from scratch. Not a new guest. Just a new tag —
AGENT-READY — sitting next to the ones already there, like LORA MESH NODE, SOLAR OFF-GRID. A dedicated node that won't get pulled out from under you mid-session. A
private relay, not handed off to a stranger. A stated bandwidth floor, not a vague
"good wifi."
The guest is still human. The agent is still just luggage they carry. Reputation,
payment — all of it still belongs to exactly one npub, same as it always has.
Sometimes the right move isn't reaching further out — it's noticing where the boundary
should actually sit, before crossing it just because something exciting showed up in
the news.
