I'm curious if people on nostr would agree with this skepticism of technology's ability to restore a natural balance within society, or whether you think that the technology we're all working on here can actually accomplish that mission:

This is a quote by James Carey from his book "Communication and Culture."

Blockchains have something that even gold and silver don't. They are much harder to confiscate. Is it natural to have a force capable of confiscating your wealth? Probably. But I don't think it's harmonious.

No idea. But it's the right question....

what does a natural balance mean?

if the correct people pave the way.. definitely. no need for permission from governments and the incompetent leaders.

I think the technology is an outwards reflection of our evolving ability to create and cognate (i.e. communicate). The technology alone is not enough, yet the technology wouldn’t exist at all if as souls and spirits were not collectively growing.

Technology is from the line of Cain, it is cursed. It can only be redeemed, but not simply, and definitely not by our own means alone.

Tech is more efficiency which results in more power. More power = more responsibility needed. Takes time but worth it imo. Nostr and freedom tech in general is attempting to guide tech more towards human flourishing. If we have a chance to do that we might as well try. No guarantees but sitting ...
