If men wrote the Bible to control other men, they did a terrible job.

They forgot to write themselves a loophole. The kings come out guilty. The priests come out as the ones who killed Him. The heroes are liars and adulterers and cowards, and it’s all left in.

Men write scripture to win. To say their tribe is chosen, their leaders are blessed, their enemies are damned.

This book says you can’t earn it. Your best works are filthy rags. The proud get nothing. The gift goes to the people who bring nothing.

You don’t invent a religion where you can’t save yourself. That’s not man reaching up. That’s God reaching down.
