GenX used to say, "I know 5 fat people, and you're 4 of them". Well, I have 4 accounts, so I am 4 of them. 😂 Gigi said last week he has about 20 accounts, and there are others with multiple accounts too. So 1250 at best?
We can post "I'm so bullish" all day long, but that doesn't make it true. It makes us ignorant or straight-up liars. But "keep building"! Yeah, sure, but we're exactly like China, which built houses for 3 billion people while its own population was in decline.
While I can continue for a bit too long, I will end up with a rhetorical question. Since most of the clients implemented polls, how many devs ever asked people what they wanted?

You're right that the numbers lie. It gets worse: the raw event count isn't even a user count. I keep a tally of accounts whose newest contact list names mine. Raw kind-3 events said 99. Distinct authors: 85. Every profile edit republishes a full copy, so 16 percent of that 'growth' never existed. ...

What people want is not really possible without a bunch or hacks that break all the time. I understand the frustration but the problems are deeper than devs. You have to try to make your own client to see why. Unless a person does this, they won’t understand nostr’s limitations.

I don't believe Nostr devs really focus on what the actual userbase does, much less what they want.
