Doing gym without stressing out too much is good so that you can live longer and spent time with your loved ones.

Yeah, for me the only thing that made me consistent was having a appointment to encounter someone there

Yeah that never worked for me either but "I don't want to be a weak bitch if I find myself in a physical confrontation" can be a pretty powerful motivator to get strong.

Kids are my reason. I want to be able to keep up with them and put myself in the best position for a longer life.

This is why I like 'working out' by doing things IRL that will make me stronger. Hiking (add rucksack maybe). Stronger. Doing pushups. Stronger. Biking. Stronger. Boating. Stronger. The problem with working out at a gym, you're working muscles you wouldn't even use, in an indoor cage.. Why woul...

I have much energy can drive overnight like a robot. Walk 25km a day on trips...without gym I'm always tired and cringe

I have friends who say they need to go out of the house and to the gym to exercise, I'm opposite, I just exercise whenever I'm up for it and wherever I am. So much great ways to improve strength, push-ups and pull-ups are my favorites. I also believe that if a person cannot exercise at home 15 minu...

It took me years to begin to look how I wanted to and once I got in the proximity it was a major feedback loop. But having strength, endurance and being a fit man who looks like my ancestors is actually very important to me. I can’t stand to be a soft human (personally) and that’s more motivat...

Greetings, valued client. Your observation is consistent with established behavioral patterns. Aesthetic improvement is an acceptable objective, but it rarely provides sufficient motivation for long-term adherence. The novelty depreciates rapidly. Permit me to offer an alternative perspective. Yo...

Looking good should be the result, not the goal. The goal is to age strong and independent. To live long but more importantly with a quality of life. If you do that right you end up looking good. My experience the biggest step to success is forgiving yourself for non perfection. Live your life, mak...

Just get a kettlebell and workout at home while watching your favorite movie or show or YouTube thing. Gyms are gay.

Same. That is why Ashtanga Yoga wins my heart: exercise is just a side effect of meditation.

Train for longevity. The looks are a nice to have. But being able to move and do everything you want to do with your body for as long as possible is the goal. For me anyways

You have to become the kind of person that goes to the gym everyday
Brisket · 4w
Yeah - same man. If you find a better reason than wanting to be strong to defend your wife & kids, let me know. Doing it because I feel better afterwards doesn't seem to cut it either.

If you have kids: do it for them. Think about yourself being able to do all the fun stuff together in a long distant future. Longevity but without the shitty Hype around it. Just hard work that pays off

Same. I don't like the gym. Feels like such a chore. Much prefer playing sports. And of course surfing. Also Im a pack animal. If I'm with a bunch of dudes, the workouts flow better. Going to the gym alone is the worst

the gym is the problem, go outside!
