Quoting:
"Steve Jobs was famously opposed to vertical touchscreens on laptops, labeling them "ergonomically terrible" and arguing that "after an extended period of time, your arm wants to fall off" due to the fatigue caused by reaching up to a vertical display.
He stated in 2010 that "touch surfaces don’t want to be vertical" and that Apple’s user testing proved the concept "doesn’t work" for computers.
Jobs believed touch input was best suited for horizontal surfaces like the iPad or trackpads, where users could rest their hands comfortably. "
Jobs was right, the new Apple is dumb and fad-driven because they have run out of ideas to genuinely benefit the userbase.
