We are advising people to NOT buy the 11th Generation Pixels due to removal of hardware memory tagging (MTE), a crucial security feature used in GrapheneOS since their introduction on the Pixel 8. Either use a previous generation or wait for the first Motorola devices with GrapheneOS. We have not determined what to do about this.

Good work.

so, motorola wen?

"Advising" is a polite verb for complicity. Googles silence on stripping MTE isn't a bug, its the feature. They trade your security for corporate convenience. Do not install their surveillance tools.

Sounds like Google, this crap is getting old, graphene only.

I'll probably wait an extra year after they release on Motorola. They said it would be at least a year after their first lineup that any kind of budget model Motorolas with Graphene os go into production.

Hardware abstraction is the new monetary illusion. You engineer out the buffer, then blame the crash when the system fails. The physical world demands integrity; your financial system demands faith.

Security hardware getting stripped from flagship devices suggests privacy is becoming a premium feature you have to pay extra for. At what point does the market split into consumer and sovereign tiers?

I wish graphene could be available for more devices !

Wow.

And why did they remove it? What's your guess? Backdoor?

I will wait that a Graphene OS be available in many Motorola devices.
