I remember some proposals but they were all shot down as having flaws in some way or other. Nobody figured out how to do it with acceptable tradeoffs

Correct. All proposals created more problems than solutions. All of them. Including mine. The lack of key rotation is not because we didn't try.

Can agree, many of us have discussed, submitted and commented on them. It was not for lack of consensus, but lack of a real solution that provided a better outcome than securing a single key. Also including mine.

"treat me as the npub in this attention" is no harder than revocation, but no one calls nip-09 overbearing
