In 2026 the PWA shortcut, app icon, still disappearing from the OS environment.
To get it back without the reinstall do in: chrome://apps/ > right click on the PWA and select Create shortcut (yes yet again).
Really annoying doing this repeatedly because just random app disappear in random time all the time.
It is still installed in the OS, just the reference to it gets mangled somehow.
This makes them totally unusable for general public.
