USPSA is fun! I would say it has nothing to do with self defense and real life scenario, so I view it solely as a sport. But it will definitely help to improve speed and accuracy overall
Nice I view IDPA as sport and a game as well. They try to be "realistic" with stage scenario and "concealment" cough a vest cough but idk many who carry match grade competition pistols in an OWB holster with mag holders...
I will say it is making me slow down and take the second to hit accurate. My first match a 1 second shot became a 11 second penalty after shooting through and hitting a nonthreat
