Ordered a Mac Studio with M5 Max. Excited to build out some local AI with this, although my longer term goal is to go bigger on hardware and force myself onto Linux as a standard. I can’t quite quit Mac (yet). I’ll call it a bridge

I love Linux, but everyone says I should get a Mac for this. Is there a Linux desktop that works for AI stuff? I'm not a fan of building my own computers. I fix old computers because I'm cheap, but I can't fix a chip and building computers is not fun for me.

They don't want you to know this, but you can get significantly cheaper (old, used) enterprise hardware with as good or better performance and even rival performance per watt in many practical cases.
