Has anyone read any books on dice entropy? I want to learn more about generating sufficient entropy for digital signatures using 100+ dice tolls.

II once read Stupak On Craps in my gambling days. according to Stupak, The house edge on craps is 1.414%

You need perfect dice to maintain that razor thin profit margin.

If your dice are biased, they will cut into that razor thin margin. Therefore, casinos need perfect dice and change them often.

This RNG bug basically generated a key with the equivalent of 15 dice rolls/ ~40 bits.

If we need 128 bits for sufficient entropy, what if you took a chance rolling dice that are not perfect. Perhaps one even has a chip. If you rolled 100 times, would you expect greater than 40 bits of entropy?

Would you expect more than 128 bits? #asknostr

I expect my dice aren’t perfect and my rolling skill sucks So when I roll 100 times I don’t expect 256 bits entropy but hopefully over 128 I could be wrong

what if you sourced many different dice from different makers?

I literally just scrolled past this and it held my interest to watch it. Some pretty nerdy stuff but it might interest you 🍻 https://x.com/zyron5m/status/2084000952403607591

Drop the dice into a cup of salt water 1000 times and record which numbers are facing up. Roll the dice as many times. If one number is coming up a lot more often you know the dice are compromised, if the data looks random, they are *probably* good enough. You'd need some kind of machine that p...

nostr:nprofile1qqsd73u9dpremcntf2pur0wymw4krdwvsts6xyhzk29us9dp9223uec5eyg2p min entropy is the figure to compute. a fair d6 gives 2.58 bits a roll, and a die chipped badly enough that one face lands 30 percent of the time still gives 1.74, so 100 rolls lands around 174 bits. one face would have to ...

As I can tell regular game dice like bicycle from the store or otherwise with a slight bias may give you an entropy around 200 bits still. There is a way to correct for this bias but it comes at the cost of 300 rolls. Casino dice from craps table are perfectly balanced with the drilled spots fille...
