It is sad to see people being such blatant, distopian despots, especially when they think they are doing evil for a good cause. Evil has such a hold on the minds of people that they think they would be doing good by attacking every human in earth. It is hard to understand because I'm not low intelligence, ignorant of history, and evil.

I have compassion for my colleagues perspectives. I was just like them. It took a really long time to realize that there are better solutions available. I was disgusted when I first heard Snowden first speak about CSAM and privacy. My training taught me that the government was going to help fix it...

Yes. But I also do not see why to try defending an insecure messanger that does not offer e2ee and therefore all messages can be decrypted by the service without difficulty. Sorry but users who did use chats that are no private chat, just did not care about security.
