I would say 99/100 when I go out of my way to help someone they end up fucking me over, betraying me or being disloyal to me, but the one time it works it’s such a meaningful and productive compounding relationship that it makes the other 99 meaningless by comparison.

You can’t let the 99 harden your heart or you won’t be open to the 1.
