So what was the point of getting the shot if it still kills them?
Because the alternative is NOT having a vaccine that protects people and just letting the disease rip and kill people without that layer of protection
It was obvious from day #1 that covid was capable of both mutation and crossover events, and that if enough hosts were left infecting eachother that covid would mutate around the protection from the vaccines. THAT IS WHY WE USED THE MRNA PLATFORMS TO MAKE A VACCINE -- because we knew full well that it was possible that we would need to be boosters that targeted strains that evolved past the protection offered by it, and it was almost certain to be needed faster than the typical turnaround time for vaccines at the time. We have squandered that opportunity as antivaxxers like you threw a wrench into the global medical research world in the form of people like RFKJ being in high positions of authority.
The vaccines saved tens of millions of lives and hundreds of millions of people from being disabled. And continue to do so. But people like you have managed to continue to help spread covid enough that it's still going around.
The "point" of the vaccines is to help reduce the number of dead, to reduce the severity of disease, [and although they weren't planned that way to reduce infection]. That's what they do.
Just like some people die from measles even if they are vaccinated, but the way to get measles deaths to 0 is mass vaccination campaigns -- the people who have compromised immune systems and who just draw the short stick are protected by those who are vaccinated, if enough people are vaccinated. Although we DID successfully eliminate a bunch of different covid variants (original wuhan strain is long gone) it still poses a threat due to antivaxxers like you, just like measles now poses a threat (despite a VERY successful, decades long vaccination campaign), again because of antivaxxers like you.
