I installed today (8.0). I had to do a sysupgrade -s in order to fix pkg_add can't resolve errors during installing kde.

I also adjusted the .xsession file to create the tmp files outside of /tmp/run [ export XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=~/.tmp/run/$(id -u) ]

Now I can login but plasmashell is in a crash loop - working it now. Ctrl+Alt+T opens konsole so that's something, most of the way there I guess.
