You can completely disagree with someone and still be kind.

Friends aren’t supposed to be exactly like you. They’re supposed to have new and different viewpoints that broaden and challenge our personal development.

In AA, people like to say “focus on the similarities, not the differences”. Online, I mostly see a focus on the differences and rarely a discussion of commonalities.
