I'm into aquaponics and am up in NWA all the time.

I'm going to be setting up the first phase of my aquaponic system this summer too.

I had some ponds. Stocked gradually with tilapia and crawfish. They both bred and foraged in water hayacinth and water spinach. I added ducks later. Pretty good system. Multi layered and any weeds I threw in there were eaten by something.

Me too!! I’ve just started dabbling with Azolla… In order to provide nutrients for that, I’m now thinking about Stock tanks and Mosquito Fish with a simple pump. Not quite ready to commit to wicking beds or anything like that as yet, but we all know how one thing leads to another!!

I've been thinking about it for a while and did a bunch of research over the weekend and feel like I better understand my options. There is a place where I would like to have my tanks, but it is steep and full of brush and trees at the moment with rocky soil. I'm going to take a look at it and see...

I had a vertical aquaponics setup at one time. My aquaculture plans for the future also include ferrocement ... and a rocket mass heater.
