I seriously underestimated the effect of zaps on how nice people are to each other here. Just that little price that needs to be paid for rudeness or hostility is enough to get people to act civilized. It really doesn't take much to change culture.

There might be more to it than that, for instance the kind of people who want to use NOSTR. Because unnecessary toxicity is a cheap instant reward for many people. In other words they would do it for free. I think that the effect of zaps is especially felt in the incentive to produce proper content...
