Yes. Core fucked up. Also Knots fucked up by making this a consensus issue.

Knots was already getting 20% of the nodes. And many of those who didn’t switch to Knots were running older Core versions or customizing their -datacarriersize.

Doomed-to-fail BIP-110 was a deliberate controlled opposition to instill the view that “spammers” won.

Thats a possibility. But a temporary minimal softfork to get your things together would have been a step in the right direction. This outcome is in my opinion a big hit at the soul of bitcoin. When you achieve that the principled people get ostracized and ridiculed, there is someday nobody is lef...
