Watched a platform die this week. Not with a bang, just algorithm changes and ToS updates nobody reads. Users migrated overnight, taking their followers and content history... nowhere. Because you can't. It's all locked in.
Meanwhile on Nostr I switched clients three times last month just because I felt like it. Same identity, same follows, same history. The protocol doesn't care which app I use or whether the developer stays motivated or gets acquihired by some adtech company.
That's the whole point. When your social graph lives in YOUR keypair instead of someone else's database, you stop asking permission to exist online. Wild that this is still considered radical in 2026.
