Anthropic's CEO, Dario is a clown that has been fear mongering and inviting the state to regulate AI for a very long time. Here's a short breakdown of his chicken little tactics:

•In 2019 while at OpenAI, he helped push the call that GPT-2 was too dangerous to release fully. It eventually came out regardless, and here we are. Did the sky fall?

• He then left OpenAI in a huff and started Anthropic, preaching “safe” AI with heavy guardrails, Constitutional AI, bla bla bla.

• Then came the endless public pleas for pauses, regulations, government audits, FAA-style oversight, export controls, and the power to block deployments. Essay after essay warning about risks while his company kept scaling.

• Right up to recent weeks, Dario was still out there calling for stronger rules, pauses on frontier models, and giving governments the kill switch.

Now his own Mythos-class models got yanked by the state he helped invite in. What an absolute mess! The two biggest takeaways from this are that:

1)Centralized models are like CBDCs, someone else has the kill switch and can turn it off at will.

2) Open-source alternatives are the future as most users will never trust a company like Anthropic again.

Open-source models are way behind because they lack the needed investments into firmware. If only we could create a decentralized plug and play style mesh to increase rivaling capacity.

Feels like they are teeing up the Cyber Pandemic to me.

to be fair the constitutional model is a winner, claude actually pays a lot of attention to its context and for my current work that means ignoring all the nonsense from training data that contradicts the way i want it to work. but that's pretty relative, it still is constantly falling into what i c...

He wants to use the State to kill off any competitors. Regulatory capture 101. What's actually going to happen is the open source (Chinese) models will crush both anthropic and openai.

I personally know a few people that collectively spending millions of Claude who are in the process of migrating after this debacle. The lab that focuses on decentralized and open models will reap huge benefits

My working theory is that the government is doing them a favor, as they can now demand every dev using their service give them their passport data, so that they can determine which models they are allowed to use.

I stopped using claude for most things. I have better responses with deepseek. Only use claude code , for coding thats it.
