The time frame on the right picture is a lot longer than in the left picture. I think if both covered a span of 9 years they wouldn't look as similar.

To be fair the scaling of the x-axis is very different.

I'm not sure BTC price is comparable, since it's a brand new asset class. Why not compare gold to gold?
