As much as I say I love Linux as my daily driver I’m lately peeking onto a potential MacBook. I’m just so frustrated of the last couple of years on my dell experience.
Pc wise I will def stay on arch but for my mobile work I need something that feels like my pc and so far that has only happened back in 2021 with the xps 13 my current dell pro 14 premium is a piece of shit in terms of build quality especially the track pad is just bs but I can’t give it back…. Sooo well I was thinking about Lenovo or a Mac mhhhh 🤔

Go for a decent refurbished Macbook Air. And flash it with Linux. A combination of superb hardware and software..... Look out for models which you can open by unscrewing the bottom case. So you can easily change battery, SSD etc. I did it and are more than happy.

If you go Mac, Asahi Linux covers you. USB4 and Thunderbolt support on the M1, M2, and M3 chips is moving into the mainline kernel, while M4 support is still being developed via the Asahi firmware work.

Have you considered a Framework 13 Pro? If you're fine with MacOS then Macbooks are still hard to beat. You won't get Linux support for the newer Apple M* chips.

I use a Lenovo ideapad 330. Core i3, 20GB memory, 512GB SSD & 1TB SSD for storage. Pretty happy with it running Linux, but I don't do anything really heavy either.
