A very strict rule I have is to only associate with people who genuinely want the best for me.

I do not care if the person is a family member or long time friend.

The second it becomes clear to me that they genuinely do not want me to succeed I cut them out.

No exceptions.

I recommend adopting the rule.

It will be lonely in the beginning, but eventually you surround yourself with the right people and life becomes so fucking beautiful you can’t even imagine.

I feel the same. I’ve been going through something similar during the past couple of years. Been a tough and lonely path at times but my life has improved significantly after cutting out toxicity.

This is the only way. I want the best for all my people and my people are viciously curated. Viciously culled too.

Unfortunately I had to layoff many friends and family the past couple years. On the bright side I started accepting new applications.

Building strong connections with healthy friendships that fully support you is so much more fulfilling, and increase your sense of belonging and purpose. 💜

How do you tell if a person wants the best for you ?

any mercy for family members who „don‘t understand“ your way of life and therefore will naturally be more distant?
