Before finding bitcoin the maximum in savings I ever managed was 1K, though my grandparents repeated 'save some of this for a rainy day' when giving me pocket money there was no advice for how long.. 1 year, 5 years..? I have an unspent postal order for £1 which resurfaced after 25 years which is now worth more as paper because it has my grandmother's handwriting on.
I got good at enduring hardships and living on the bare minimum, but not saving, so when I found money that increases in value that totally blew my mind.
