@nprofile1q... Yeah there are not a lot of players in the space and they're *far* less predatory than the competition. As EDA tools go their license models are extremely reasonable.
I have a really great relationship with them, there's code I wrote in the core of the matrix solver and I get a massive discount off the cost of my license and support contract. I'm on a first name basis with their applications engineer and even their lead designer. I have early access to engineering/alpha builds and do my best to find bugs before they ship (I opened four tickets against the latest dev build this weekend alone).
This is the kind of support that you'd never get from Synopsys or somebody unless maaaaaybe you were like an eight figure a year customer.
But even then, I can't imagine you would be invited to have pizza with the owner's son and the VP of engineering while *looking at source code* and suggesting performance tweaks etc. Yes, this really happened.
