My social circle isn't very big, so I can't really say whether the majority of people like, love, loathe, or ignore AI, etc.

But I haven't yet met a non-tech person in the wild who was actually enthusiastic about AI stuff, but my (admittedly small!) sampling of opinions from people in shops, etc., suggests that it's not well-loved.

I can only hope that's true. I still don't think it's inevitable any more than NFCs or cryptocurrency or Segway. Will it go away entirely? Nah. But will it be the all-consuming industry that is being pushed on us? I maintain the tiniest spark of optimism the answer is no.
