I've just realised that today is a public holiday in NZ. The news felt quiet as did our local Mastodon server, so I asked Duck Duck Go "Is it a public holiday in NZ today?" and look what it told me.

I found the correct answer on a NZ Govt site. While ANZAC day is the 25th, it's being re celebrated today (Monday 27th). Not only is DDG completely wrong about today, but it insists that the "next" public holiday will be two days ago.

I can remember when search engines tended to be based in reality.
