Look I totally empathise with the “code is just a means to an end” people, that’s a fine way to engage with code, it’s ok to not really be interested in it on its own terms. But extending that outward, to be incapable of imagining that *others* are interested in it and *can* wield it artfully is just so bizarre and myopic. I don’t get how they don’t think about that for even a second longer or yknow, apply the thought to any other medium and realise how fundamentally batshit an idea it is
