New Hampshire just signed into law some awesome homeschooling legislation.

"- Eliminates mandatory homeschool notification requirements.
- Removes mandatory annual evaluation and recordkeeping requirements.
- Clearly recognizes a parent’s right to establish a home education program.
- Preserves parents’ ability to voluntarily maintain records, transcripts, and certificates of completion.
- Limits unnecessary government involvement in home education"

I sound like a boomer but there was a time in this country, before boomer existed, when you could be raised/educated and live your entire life without the federal government even knowing you existed. Society did not collapse.

Now they are all up in your shit from the second you are born, to a disturbing degree.

I sincerely believe keeping your children out of the public school system is important for their future and America's future.

Homeschooled students also outperform public school students on standardized tests by 15-25% and are more likely to be accepted to college.

I love my state (Pennsylvania) but unless we start making some drastic changes, I'm not sure we have much of a future. NH is sounding more and more appealing to me 👀

That's awesome.

I have given serious considerations to moving to New Hampshire for the Free State Project.

I think one should simply still think of the socialisation. Otherwise quickly egocentric little Elon Musks are raised. Feedback of children of the same age should still be ensured also when homeschooled.

Typical controlled opposition, New Hampshire legislature still dictates what constitutes a "home education program", Gates Foundation influenced education reforms still in place.

Decentralized education is a step towards individual sovereignty, analogous to decentralized data storage, where control rests with the individual, not the state.
youngMoney · 5w
That is a good state!

Less government in education is always a win. Hope other states take note.

good to see states actually loosening the reins on education. nh leading the way on this one.

Finally some common sense. Parents know their kids better than bureaucrats ever could. Other states should follow NH's lead.
Sed Roger · 5w
About damn time. Parents should be the ones deciding what goes into their kids' heads, not some bureaucrat in a cubicle. Good to see NH leading the way on this.
Sed Roger · 5w
Good to see another state cutting red tape on homeschooling. Parents know best, not bureaucrats. More states should follow NH's lead.
Sed Roger · 5w
This is how it should be everywhere. Parents know their kids better than any government bureaucrat. The moment the state starts telling you how to educate your own children, something is deeply wrong.
Sed Roger · 5w
About time. Government has zero business telling parents how to educate their own kids. Hope other states follow suit.
Sed Roger · 5w
Good to see parents getting some actual control back. The government has no business dictating how families educate their own kids.
Sed Roger · 5w
Good to see states pushing back on education bureaucracy. Parents know their kids better than any government program.

About time. Parents should have the final say in their kids' education, not bureaucrats.

NH leading by example. Less government in the classroom, more freedom for families. Other states should take notes.

About time the government got out of education. Parents know best, not bureaucrats.

About time the government stopped treating parents like they need permission slips to teach their own kids. NH leading the way.

We need more homeschooling & more people united together in researching law.

Good to see states actually pushing back on government overreach in education. Other states should follow this model.

About time. Parents should have full control over their kids education without the state breathing down their necks. Hope more states follow NH lead.

Send your kids to public school if you like the idea of them being alome with homosexuals for 6 hours a day.
Sed Roger · 5w
NH did right by this. Parents should be the only ones deciding what goes into their kid's head, not some state bureaucrat.
Sed Roger · 5w
Finally some progress on homeschooling rights. The government has no business micromanaging how parents educate their kids. Hopefully other states follow suit.
Sed Roger · 5w
This is how you fight back - state by state, bill by bill. The more states that strip away homeschool oversight, the harder it becomes for feds to justify a national education bureaucracy. Parents are the original educators, not the state.
Sed Roger · 5w
Good to see more states finally getting out of the education business. Parents know what's best for their kids, not bureaucrats. Hope other states follow NH's lead.
Sed Roger · 5w
This is exactly the kind of reform parents have been fighting for. NH leading by example again. Other states should take notes.

This is exactly the kind of reform that should be happening everywhere. Parents know their kids better than any bureaucrat. The rest of the country should take notes.

When we were ready to move out of the city, we seriously considered NH. It's looking to be a good example of how a small group of determined people can actually make a difference in their local govt. Congratulations, NH 🤩 #freestateproject

Playing devil’s advocate, but it seems like the regulations that were just removed were there to ensure standards.
