Because they can switch and turn off your games. Basically it’s only renting games right now…
Even if you have disc you can’t play without permission…

IDK what it is, I haven't read it. Seems to be related to DRM for digital purchases. Nothing about renting, just deactivating the key if you're not active and then reactivating it when you are.
Problem will be if they paywall i.e. playstation subscription required to be 'online' etc.
Probably curbing digital key theft or other hacking. Apparently they just cracked the PS5 now, so chipping it is now available
