1) it is pretty lame that aws going down takes down signal with it, the outage earlier was a few hours
2) since signal is end to end encrypted there is no trust required in amazon on the privacy side...
Signal is too centralised.
Meanwhile, my private comms server was up, I was able to hop on a call with my crew and play, and then video-call my family.
