I kept thinking the Sam Altman fired from OpenAI was the LLMs hallucinating. Checked twitter. Didn’t believe it. Then confirmed at google news.

I heard rumors of sexual harassment and assault by senior people at OpenAI. No way to confirm if they’re legit but it seemed credible to me, and that Sam was covering it up. I wonder if that’s what he lied to the board about.

Certainly possible, but it doesn’t help the board to be opaque in its statements if that’s the case. They earn back trust by making the point publicly that they don’t tolerate that behavior. The truth will come out and they’ll look just as complicit, which is another invitation to litigation...
