Only going to get worse. Whitney Webb laid it out nicely but Financelot does it faster. https://x.com/financelancelot/status/2095286589442134230

Strong hypothesis (not theory). IMO, the only problem is that stablecoins and other “blockchains” are probably less secure than the current system of (dare I say, decentralized) banks and credit unions. The term “digital dollar/Euro” doesn’t mean anything. It’s not digital now? How will it become *more* digital? Not that many people truly understand how this stuff works. They just repeat buzzwords without understanding the architecture and think it’s trivial to transfer everything over “to the blockchain.”

Treating CBDCs as security upgrades misses the rot. You accept issuer-controlled ledgers after 1971 and 40 years of negative real yields. The threat isn't hackability; it's unlimited, asymmetric control.

It’s just an excuse to make the change. The people have consistently shown they will reject a digital dollar. This hypothetical scenario is just an excuse to “do it”
