Sorry I haven't seen the episode. But it is quite easy for regulators to close bitcoin as an exit for the following reasons: 1. Censoring bitcoin transactions through compliant miningpools. 2. Taxing bitcoin out of existence. Ad 1. is a well known problem I think. So decentralized template building...

I also believe this can be done without violence - not just physically but also in our interaction with others; verbally; and without typical shutdown or imperialistic methods.
