I agree that we need to develop AI with some guardrails although no guardrails protect us against people and their intentions.

We have a tremendous opportunity to transform society for the better.

I just find it curious that suddenly, the CEOs of OpenAI and Anthropic are both screaming for regulation and that somehow, government employees would be able to tell the Anthropic employees what to do to make AI safe.

Pair this with the data center hysteria and you got a perfectly coordinated PR campaign.
