Opinion: The stance of the Brazilian government in appealing to the defense of its “sovereignty,”—first in response to U.S. sanctions against officials for human rights abuses, and then regarding the removal of Maduro, the war against the Ayatollah regime, and the imminent overthrow of the communist regime in Cuba—are pathetic moves that raise the suspicion (for those who are not yet aware) that the government of Lula da Silva is not only ideologically and materially aligned with such regimes, but also sees itself in a position of weakness and vulnerability.
