It did seem odd to me to be attacking a mining pool for excessive hash rate so early on. Surely there are better ways to go about dealing with such a situation. The latter points raised are concerning if true, curious as to whether @Matthew Kratter will respond to this video?

Didnt it seem odd to you that Kratter, and other BIP110ers, only truly thought through the implications of a hardfork first *after* their softfork failed whilst Luke, who “lost” 200 BTC, has been talking about this for years?
