life has a strange and weird and sometimes cruel way of challenging us. the component or layer or dimension or whatever that seems to be missing is the other—her.

going back to the wood analogy, the wood doesn't interact with anything, not with other wood, not with the one who burns it. it's just used. only meant to fulfill a need and nothing more.

so the analogy leaves the primary purpose of intimacy unexplored—which is connecting with another. there's so much more to intimacy than what it provides or how it's expressed. the expression and the needs are secondary to the connection.

dunno if any of this helps or makes it more complicated lol

frustratingly, the game repeats until something unlocks... i always enjoy the parts of yourself you share and our conversations. 🫂🫂🫂

I wouldn't be brave enough to push that wood analogy that far, but you make a fair point.
