Definition of protocol is the set of rules that nodes agree upon to coordinate with each other. I don't understand what you mean because code-wise all nodes are the same

That’s true provided that Bitcoin is decentralised and not controlled by a small cartel of hash power. Bip110 nodes enforced additional rules accepted by 80% of the nodes on the network and ignored by 20%. Zero nodes were directly against them. Yet 5 pool nodes vetoed something that 18 000 nodes actively signalled for, and about 60 000 other nodes silently accepted. This means that Bitcoin is not governed by nodes per se, but by the biggest 5 nodes that coordinate 97% of the network traffic.

what's fun about this, is that bitcoin will not cope well with a really big drop in hashpower. the chain will become vulnerable to private sidechains doing censorship attacks and during the period of low hashpower, the block cadence will drop badly. biggest attack we can make on spamchain is to tak...

It's true, bip110's rules were still accepted by all other nodes. In practice if you run bip110 you do not accept many transactions, but if you run normal nodes you still accept bip110 valid transactions. Bip110 forked voluntarily and it doesn't seem to have stopped spam in any other way than movin...
