I'm sure the Liquid team thought they were being "aggressive" in their security too. We have no idea how much effort developers are putting into their projects. My point is that the uncertainty is the problem. You can't know, nobody can. The only thing you can trust is what you can audit. I can prove for myself there are only 21 million BTC.

Yes, the problem is layers and protocols like coinjoins just split devs and users and there's too much to keep track of, and hence there's separate teams and some small in size that end up failing where others weren't even looking, while on monero all devs and all users only have to develop and worr...
