in terms of monetizing, it def needs to move away from dependence on brand ads and he’s accelerating a bunch of that. A lot of debt to consider. So, I understand the urgency and hasty moves. I hope he realizes eventually that basing it on an open protocol like this solves many of the problems and enables a pretty incredible business. We shall see.

On a platform where Elon bans journalists and linking to competitors websites (e.g Substack, Mastodon) i don’t see a future where twitter gets based on an open protocol

Yes. I agree. He has to be pragmatic. However too much monetizing will discourage the average user. In fact he potentially runs the risk of losing users. We'll see. Time will tell. And I agree with the open protocol route.

i think most people don't recognise how much of his twitter behaviour and coding is rooted in adjusting narratives and rhetoric from within the content margins. i also think there's a serious refashioning of language comprehension on a global access scale on the platform, occurring at a mind-bending...
